Peer Support Groups - Neurodiversity Spark

Find your people, share a cuppa and be heard

Spark is excited to launch our living, lived-experience-led Peer Support Groups. The first session is on 30 April 2026, 7.00–8.30pm, at our new Training Hub, 89 University Street, Belfast. These groups are for neurodivergent people and allies who want a calm, welcoming space to connect, share and be supported.

What the Peer Support Groups are for

Our Peer Support Groups are a chance to meet others with similar experience, to chat, to share practical tips and to support one another. These sessions are not therapy. They are lived-experience-led spaces, designed to be informal, relational and practical. Expect conversation, cuppas and the occasional off-topic tangent, all held with care.

What to expect at the first session

  • A short safety check at the start, to make sure everyone feels able to take part.
  • Lived-experience facilitation, with trained facilitators holding the group and guiding gentle conversation.
  • Quiet options, for anyone who needs lower stimulation or a short break.
  • A trauma aware approach, including signposting and supervision for facilitators.
  • Accessibility supports available on request, including captions, transcripts and facilitator support.

A note from our facilitator, Daria

“Our Peer Support Groups are places where you can bring your whole self, in whatever form that takes. We want people to leave feeling less alone, and more able to notice what helps them. We are taking care of the practical bits so the group can be safe, warm and useful for everyone.”

— Daria, Director of Trauma-Informed Practice at Neurodiversity Spark

Safeguarding and privacy

These groups are held to high safeguarding standards. We run sessions with clear roles and reporting routes, privacy rules and moderation. We are moving our main community to Skool, which offers private groups, moderation tools and improved safeguarding workflows. If you have any concerns about safety or confidentiality, please speak to a facilitator or email daria@neurodiversityspark.com.

Accessibility

If you need adjustments, for example captions, sensory supports, notes or a chaperone, tell us when you book or email daria@neurodiversityspark.com. We will do our best to make sessions accessible and comfortable for everyone.

Why this matters

Peer support is powerful. Being seen and heard by people who understand can change how we cope, how we connect and how we take care of ourselves. Spark’s Peer Support Groups are rooted in lived experience and designed to be practical, trauma aware and welcoming.
