Help Shape More Accessible Community Events
At Neurodiversity Spark, we believe that lived experience should lead change.
That’s why we’re proud to launch a new piece of Spark Research — the Neurodiversity Access & Inclusion Survey — exploring the barriers and enablers to taking part in community and pop-up events.
Why this matters
For many neurodivergent people and families, attending events isn’t always straightforward.
Sometimes it’s about:
- Not having enough information in advance
- Uncertainty around sensory environments
- Concerns about how welcoming or understanding a space will be
Often, it’s not one big barrier…. it’s a series of small things that add up.
This research is about understanding those experiences properly, and more importantly, identifying what actually helps.
About the study
with ICEP Europe as research partner.
- It takes around 10 minutes to complete
- Responses are fully anonymous
- You can skip any question at any time
The goal is simple: to turn real experiences into practical change.
What will happen with the findings?
The insights gathered will be used to create:
- A plain-English checklist for event organisers
- A practical accessibility guide for community and pop-up events
This means your voice won’t just be heard, it will directly help shape how events are designed and delivered in the future.
Who should take part
We’d love to hear from:
- Neurodivergent individuals
- Parents and carers
- Anyone with lived experience of attending (or not attending) community events
- And be 18 or over
